"Always There" was the first single from Kate Alexa, released in September 2004, when she was sixteen years old. This song is from her debut album, Broken & Beautiful, which was released two years after.
History
It was selected to be the soundtrack to the Seven Network soap Home And Away's promos during the 2004 Olympics, and was also used on two episodes of Home and Away. It provided valuable promotion for Alexa. "It didn't feel real at first" she said, "I thought my CD player was on! Then it hit me. Everyone watching TV at the time was hearing my song. It was very rewarding because the song meant so much to me". The song is also included on the compilation Now 07.
Theme
The song was about the death of a friend. Alexa said "Writing this song was a way of trying to come to terms with the sudden death of a friend. It was such a sad time, but it inspired me to write what I was going through. It's a very precious song. It helped me cope, and it means a lot to me when I hear that the song has also helped other people."

"My Day Will Come" was the second single from Kate Alexa, released in September 2005. This single is from her debut album, Broken & Beautiful. It comprised two singles, one was the one without the digital video film clip which was the original one and the other one with the digital video film clip which was the enhanced limited edition. Both singles also include a new song called "Walk On" and the acoustic version of Always There, her debut single.
History and theme
This was Alexa's second single, released almost a year (50 weeks) after her debut, Always There. The album, Broken & Beautiful, was released two more singles later and a year afterwards.
Alexa says the song is about "believing in yourself" and "...no matter how hard things get, don't give up. Your day will come."
Music video
The music video for the song was directed by Bart Borghesi, and shows Alexa in an old house. In the beginning she is sat to a table singing the first verse, and she walks up to the band members with sheets over them, which she pulls off, and then starts performing the first chorus with them. Throughout the video she keeps catching sight of a mysterious man, and shots of her sat on the stairs performing with the band.
Chart performance
It did not do as well on the charts as Always There, it peaked at #24 and stayed on the ARIA top 50 for only 4 weeks, and only sold around 8,200 copies.

"All I Hear" was the third single from Kate Alexa, released in March 2006, taken from her debut album, Broken & Beautiful. There are two different versions of the single, one of them is the original and the other is the enhanced limited edition which has two extra tracks. The song is included on the compilation Now Winter 2006.
Recording and theme
Despite its chart success, not a lot of promotion could be done for the single due to Alexa suffering from glandular fever. "It was the worst birthday present ever" she said, "it was hell"."
According to Alexa, the song is about "...a person and no matter what they say they drive you insane". She states that's she started writing the song "by singing the melody "La, la, la, la, la..." and we all decided, "That's pretty much what the song is about" so we kept it".

Music video
Like that of her last single, My Day Will Come, the video was directed by Bart Borghesi and was shot in Melbourne. It shows Kate walking around on a sunny day walking across a bridge past two men in suits, one of them knocks her shoulder and his briefcase drops, the two men then begin to argue. It then switches to Kate performing with her band in a park with a crowd. Then it goes to Kate going into what seems to be a hotel room which belongs to the guy of the song, dropping all the clothes on the rail off the hangers and destroying sunglesses and writing the words "knock knock knock" on the door. For the second chorus she is performing with her band again. At the bridge she is seen putting super glue in the guy's hair gel. It keeps flipping from Kate performing with the band to Kate in the hotel room, dropping a phone in a goldfish bowl and graffiti-ing the wall. It ends with Kate jumping up and down on the bed of the room after ripping up the cushions and throwing the CD single copy of "All I Hear" on the bed.
Chart performance
This is her most successful single to date, peaking at #9 on the ARIA Singles Chart and stayed in the Top 50 for ten weeks, and was the 100th best selling single of 2006 in Australia, selling around 25,000 copies.

"Somebody Out There" is the fourth and lead single from Australian singer Kate Alexa's debut album Broken & Beautiful. It was released in Australia on September 4, 2006 as a CD single and digital download. It became Alexa's fourth top thirty hit in Australia, and its music video was well-received. Although not Alexa's most successful single, it is considered her signature song, and is included on Now Spring 2006.
Recording and theme
Alexa started writing the song on an acoustic guitar, with Jim Marr and Wendy Page. Alexa states "Jim and Wendy are great". We got to know each other when we wrote "My Day Will Come", so it was nice to work together again. Alexa states "When I wrote Somebody Out There, I had just started a new relationship. I was in LA writing, and my somebody out there was in Australia. One line sums it up for me "A thousand miles, a million smiles, how many more to go? I was thousands of miles away, meeting lots of people, but I couldn't wait to get home. Of course you can look at this song another way that there's somebody out there for everybody".
Chart performance
It entered the ARIA Singles Chart at #33 and rose to its peak of #21 in its fourth week of charting, and stayed on the ARIA top 50 for five weeks, and has sold around 12,500 units to date.

"Teardrops" is a pop song on Womack & Womack's fourth studio album, Conscience (1988). The song writers were listed as Dr Rue & The Gypsy Wave Banner, a pseudonym of Cecil and Linda Womack. It was produced by Chris Blackwell with Womack & Womack and released as the album's lead single during the third quarter of 1988 (see 1988 in music). The song charted highly around the world, among reaching number one in the Netherlands, number two in Australia, Germany and Switzerland, and number three in the UK.
In 1993, singers Elton John and k.d. Lang covered "Teardrops" for John's album Duets. The song was also covered by the group Love Station in the 90s. In 2007 and 2008, German pop band No Angels and Australian singer Kate Alexa released their own cover versions as singles respectively.

No Angels version
In early June 2007, German pop quartet No Angels entered recording studios in Berlin to re-record the song for the second half of the third single from their fourth studio album, Destiny (2007). Co-produced by Tobias Gustafsson, Vincent Pontare, and Michel Zitron, "Teardrops" was released alongside "Amaze Me" on October 19, 2007 (see 2007 in music).
The song was previewed on RTL's news programme Punkt 6 on August 22, and by August 27 a thirty-seconds clip of the song had leaked onto the internet — the same week "Teardrops" was serviced to radio stations. The quartet premiered the single on the television live show ZDF Fernsehgarten on September 9, 2007.
Music video
The music video for "Teardrops" was directed by Marcus Sternberg and shot in a filming studio between August 20 and 22, 2007 in Berlin, Germany. Shot over twenty hours back-to-back with the video for "Amaze Me," the edited clip worldpremiered on September 29, 2007 on the Universal Music website. The clip received its first official airing in the week of September 29 on German music network iMusic1.
The group has declared the filming of the "mammoth shoot" as "extremely exhausting," referring to its extraordinary length and a delay of several hours, caused by various technical defects. Lucy Diakovska has described the plotless clip as a "funky disco-dance-energy-video," reflecting another facet of the band in music and style. Inspired by a concept developed by all four members and based on Sternberg's treatment, the music video was eventually conceived as a stylistic counterpart to "Amaze Me".

In early 2008, Australian singer Kate Alexa covered the song for her upcoming second studio album and was produced by Molly Meldrum and features the American rapper Baby Bash. It was released as the album's first single in Australia on March 3, 2008 as a CD single. Alexa states that even though the song was released the same year she was born, she has always been a massive fan of the song. The song was released to Australian radio on February 1, 2008 and has peaked at number sixty-four on the airplay chart.
The songs producer, Molly Meldrum, suggested that Alexa should cover the song. Alexa states "I was looking to do a single between albums, and Molly came up with the idea of doing "Teardrops". At first, I was a little sceptical because the original is such a classic and I love it so much. But then Molly and I spoke about how we could do it." American rapper, Baby Bash, heard what Alexa was doing with the song through a friend of Alexa's manager and decided to take part in the song. Alexa states "He's a very cool guy. He came in and did the rap in one take, and it fitted perfectly. It’s got such an incredible feel and groove and we wanted to keep that vibe. But we also wanted to do something different, and the rap takes the track to a whole new place."
The song debuted on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart on March 10, 2008 at number twenty-eight. The song also debuted at number seven on the physical singles chart and number eight on the Australian chart. It sold around 10,000 units.
