Kate Alexa
The title suggests a forerunner to bigger things. Kate has much potential and she is just beginning a career in which her singing and songwriting continues to improve. Having already scored a national Top 20 hit with her debut single ‘Always There’, this new single was brought together with the assistance of acclaimed producer Charles Fisher. The song carries emotion and a catchy hook, the ingredients for success. Her time in the big time may not be too far away at this rate. Listen out for the contribution of The Bangles as backing vocalists.

Finally, Australia has an answer to America’s Hilary Duff and Ashlee Simpson, and her name is Kate Alexa. The young songstress has the sweetness of Duff, the punk edge of Simpson, and toured last year with Jesse McCartney. Add to that she really can belt out a tune. Her vocals are professional and strong, and she is a songwriter as well as a performer. Her latest single, All I Hear, was taken from her soon to be released album, the Bold and the Beautiful. Its catchy lyrics guarantee that after listening to it, you’ll also be singing "la la la la la” all day long. Maybe the next day too. Yet, this is not just manufactured candy floss singing. Alexa belts out a mean tune, and this singer is definitely one to watch.

Kate Alexa arrives with her debut album, Broken & Beautiful. It comprises an abundance of pop tunes; already several Top 40 singles have shown the infectious nature of Kate’s musical development. Songs such as "Always There”, "My Day Will Come”, "All I Hear” and "Somebody Out There” have made their mark. Her overall craft and songwriting will continue to develop as she gains greater confidence, but this is a good start. Kate talks of loss, heartbreak, conflict, and delicate subjects. What Kate needs to do now is to enhance the strength of the songs and naturally her own ability as a performer. Songs will need to show the necessary quality to deliver the knockout blow to media and consumers. This will happen through her own maturity and experiences. She has told me previously that she listens to many artists and draws lots of influences. I’m sure that she can control her destiny in a rewarding way and she deserves much encouragement. Her musical journey has only just started.

A bright future lies ahead for Melbourne teenage singer Kate Alexa. This is her debut single and this is a poignant song that will touch hearts. She has a good voice for the worthy sentiments described in the song. She will only mature from her teenage years. Kate deserves great encouragement.

Here's a chance to go back in time as Melbourne teenager Kate Alexa serves up her version of the Womack & Womack hit "Teardrops” from approximately twenty years ago. It has been given a fresh touch up courtesy of the production qualities of music icon Ian "Molly” Meldrum. The rapping talent of Baby Bash is also evident and adds some bite. The pop flavour is also augmented by a string section from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Kate is developing quite well as a performer and this song should add impetus to her career and give her greater confidence to find her place.
