Australian teen singer-songwriter Kate Alexa is counting her lucky stars. She's just been selected as the official support act for US superstars the Backstreet Boys when they tour Australia at the end of this month.

To coincide with Kate's addition to the tour her record label, Liberation Music, are rush releasing to radio her third single 'All I Hear,' which Kate just finished recording in America. With a catchy chorus and hooks galore, it's a single that has smash hit written all over it.

Kate's debut in the live arena was last year with teen heart throb Jesse McCartney on his national theatre tour. Kate and her band played to over 15,000 young fans, and made a real connection with her audience - evidence of this can be seen on the cd rom component of her new single 'All I Hear' (in stores March 6).

Kate says 'I am so excited to be part of this tour not only to see Backstreet Boys in their first ever Australian tour, but also to get the opportunity to perform some new songs I wrote recently in LA. After the Jesse tour, I have got a real 'itch' for performing live with my band.'

'All I Hear' is a rockier number (after her Top 20 single Always There and Top 30 single My Day Will Come) - written by Kate during a two week song-writing trip in Los Angeles last November. She collaborated on 'All I Hear' with hit-makers Reed Vertelney and Lindy Robbins. Grammy nominee Vertelney, who also produced the track, has worked with the likes of Destiny's Child, Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson. Lindy's credits include Anastasia and the Backstreet Boys' recent smash hit 'Incomplete'.

Kate, almost 18, has developed and identified a sound that really encompasses her as a performer. She adds, 'I've always had eclectic tastes. I can listen to someone sophisticated like Alicia Keys or poppy like Kelly Clarkson but I appreciate a loud naughty-boy rock band like Velvet Revolver too.'

Having finished her schooling at the end of 2005, Kate is now focusing on completing the recording of her debut album Broken and Beautiful, which is due for release early this year.
